Description
The Knightsbridge BT Evo is an 18W LED bulkhead with an integrated microwave sensor, IK10 vandal-resistant rating and IP65 weatherproofing. The sensor detects movement through walls and obstacles, switching the light on automatically when motion is detected within the configured range. The bulkhead supports three wattage settings (9W, 14W, 18W) and three colour temperatures (3000K, 4000K, 5700K), both adjustable via DIP switches behind the diffuser.
Designed for stairwells, bin stores, external walls, car parks and controlled-access zones, the BT Evo reduces energy use in low-traffic areas by switching off automatically after a configurable hold period. The microwave sensor includes a slave live terminal that can trigger linked fittings without additional sensors, allowing one BT Evo to control a zone of non-sensor bulkheads. The opal polycarbonate diffuser provides 120-degree beam spread, and the white housing accepts clip-on bezels in alternative finishes for aesthetic matching.
The 300mm diameter white polycarbonate body projects 65mm from the wall or ceiling. The IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, while the IK10 rating withstands impacts up to 20 joules — suitable for public areas, sports facilities and sites at risk of accidental or deliberate damage. The UV-stabilised polycarbonate resists yellowing and embrittlement in outdoor installations. Tool-free cable access and loop-in/loop-out terminals simplify installation and reduce fitting time.

Frequently Asked
How does the microwave sensor work?
The microwave sensor detects movement through walls, doors and glass, unlike PIR sensors which require direct line of sight. Detection range, sensitivity and hold time are adjustable via controls behind the diffuser. The sensor triggers the light when motion is detected and switches off automatically after the configured hold period.
Can the wattage and colour temperature be changed after installation?
Yes. Both wattage (9W, 14W or 18W) and colour temperature (3000K, 4000K or 5700K) are adjusted via DIP switches accessible behind the diffuser. This allows one SKU to serve multiple site requirements without stocking separate variants.
What is the IK10 rating?
IK10 is the highest rating on the international impact resistance scale. It means the bulkhead can withstand impacts of up to 20 joules — equivalent to a 5kg mass dropped from 400mm. This makes it suitable for public areas, sports facilities and sites at risk of vandalism.
What is the slave live terminal used for?
The slave live terminal allows the BT Evo to trigger other bulkheads or fittings without their own sensors. When the microwave sensor detects motion, it switches both the BT Evo and any connected slave fittings, reducing the number of sensors needed in a zone.
