Knightsbridge ASHA 16W CCT Adjustable LED Downlight - White

The Knightsbridge ASHA is a 16W LED downlight with switchable colour temperature, allowing selection between warm white (3000K), neutral white (4000K) or cool white (5700K) via a rear-mounted switch. The integrated SMD LED delivers between 1620-1755 lumens depending on the chosen temperature, housed behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser that spreads light across a 100° beam angle. The white finish and slim 145mm diameter bezel sit nearly flush with the ceiling once installed.

Designed for commercial and multi-residential settings where lighting needs vary by zone or time of use, the ASHA suits offices, retail spaces, communal hallways, washrooms and stairwells. The IP54 rating provides dust ingress protection and splash resistance from below, making the fitting suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2 when ceiling voids are sealed. The 125mm cut-out diameter fits standard ceiling grid systems and the 96mm minimum void requirement allows installation in most suspended ceiling applications. Plug-and-play connectors simplify wiring runs across multiple fittings.

The polycarbonate and aluminium construction balances weight reduction with heat dissipation, allowing the fitting to maintain LED performance across the 45,000-hour L70B50 rated life. Class II double-insulated construction means no earth connection is required. The constant current driver runs on 230V 50Hz mains without external control gear. The ASHA is compatible with Knightsbridge's EMKIT2L emergency lighting conversion kit where maintained or non-maintained emergency compliance is required.

How is the colour temperature changed?

A small switch on the rear of the fitting allows selection between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 5700K cool white. The switch must be set before installation — changing the setting after ceiling mounting requires removing the downlight from the cut-out to access the rear panel.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

Yes. The IP54 rating from below qualifies the ASHA for bathroom zones 1 and 2, provided the ceiling void is sealed and the IP20 rating from above is not compromised by unsealed ceiling penetrations or ventilation grilles directly above the fitting.

Is emergency lighting available?

The ASHA is compatible with Knightsbridge's EMKIT2L emergency conversion kit, which converts the fitting to maintained or non-maintained emergency operation. The kit is sold separately and retrofits to the existing downlight without requiring a new unit.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 96mm void depth is required to accommodate the fitting body and driver above the ceiling line. The 46mm recessed depth measurement refers to the portion of the fitting that sits within the cut-out aperture.
