Description

The Knightsbridge 6ft LED batten is a 1768mm linear fitting with an integrated 25W LED delivering 2700 lumens at 4000K cool white. The aluminium body houses the LED strip and driver behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser that spreads light across a 120-degree beam angle, providing general illumination without visible hotspots or individual LED points.

Designed for commercial, retail and domestic spaces where fluorescent T5 or T8 battens would previously have been used, the LED batten fits workshops, garages, stockrooms, utility rooms, and back-of-house areas needing functional overhead light. The fitting mounts directly to ceilings or beams via an integral terminal box on the rear, accepting mains cable without needing additional junction boxes or external drivers. The 30mm width and 45mm projection keep the fitting low-profile against the ceiling.

The matt silver aluminium finish provides a neutral tone that blends into ceilings painted white or light grey. The IP20 rating makes the batten suitable for dry indoor environments but not wet rooms, bathrooms or outdoor use. The LED is non-dimmable and delivers consistent 4000K output from switch-on without warm-up time. Is this batten dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver is non-dimmable. The fitting delivers constant 2700 lumens at 4000K when switched on, without dimming capability.

What's the difference between 4000K and 3000K?

4000K is cool white, closer to daylight and typically used in commercial, retail and workshop settings. 3000K is warm white, closer to traditional incandescent bulbs and more common in domestic living spaces. This batten is 4000K only.

Can this replace a fluorescent T8 batten?

Yes. The 6ft length and lumen output make this a direct replacement for twin-tube T8 fluorescent battens in garages, workshops and utility rooms. The LED version uses less energy, produces less heat, and lasts longer without needing tube replacements.

How is it installed?

The batten mounts to the ceiling via the integral terminal box on the rear. Mains cable feeds into the terminal box and is secured with screw terminals. No external driver or junction box is needed. The fitting then clips or screws to the ceiling depending on the mounting method chosen.
