Description

Four tiny photo frames, each 5cm square and 1cm deep, made of glass held in a brass surround in an antique finish, with a small clip at the side to hold the frame closed. Each one hangs from a twisted tie cut from sari fabric. The four carry two oranges and two deep reds, and no two ties repeat a pattern.

At 5cm square these take a very small photograph, a stamp, a pressed flower or a ticket. A row of four hung together makes more of the arrangement than of any single picture, and the ties are long enough to loop over a nail, a hook or a branch, which is why they go on a Christmas tree as readily as on a wall.

The brass is soldered around the glass with traditional tools, so there are weld marks at the joins of every frame. Each sari tie is one of a kind, so no two are alike. Four come in a set.
