Keju Recycled Glass Pendant Light - Dark Amber

The Keju in dark amber is the same wide shallow bell, this time in glass coloured deep enough to read as brown before it is switched on. It flares from a brass collar to a rim that ripples rather than running true, and the bubbles and faint ridges in the glass show through the colour. A short brass stem above the collar carries a brass chain with a rust coloured fabric flex twisted through the links. The shade measures 30cm across.

Lit, the amber carries into the light the shade passes, so the glass itself glows and what falls on the table below is warm rather than white. That suits a table people sit at in the evening more than a surface someone works at. Hung low it lights the table and the faces around it, and one on its own covers a hall table or a console. It takes one E27 bulb up to 60W, it is dimmable, the flex runs 1.5m, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The shade is recycled glass, shaped by hand, so the rim line and the depth of the colour differ from one shade to the next. The collar, chain and ceiling plate are finished in antique brass. The Keju range also holds the same pendant in clear glass. Bulbs are not included.

How dark is the amber?

Unlit it reads as a deep brown gold. Switched on the whole shade lightens and glows, and the light it throws is warm.

Will the bulb be visible?

The glass is tinted but not opaque, so the bulb shows through it as a bright core rather than as a clear outline.

How far does it hang down?

The flex is 1.5m long and the fitting is 25cm tall, so the drop is set by how much of the flex and chain is used.

How do I clean it?

Switch it off and let the bulb cool, then wipe the glass with a soft dry cloth in a circular motion. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off it.
