Keju Recycled Glass Pendant Light - Clear

The Keju is a wide shallow bell of clear recycled glass. It flares out from a brass collar and ends in a rim that ripples rather than running true, and small bubbles and faint ridges sit in the glass itself. Above the collar a short brass stem carries a brass chain with a rust coloured fabric flex twisted through the links. The shade measures 30cm across.

A bell this wide and this shallow pushes light down and outward across a broad circle. Hung low over a dining table it lights the table and the faces around it, and over a hall table or a console one on its own covers the surface. The glass is clear, so the bulb shows through it and the shape of the bulb counts. It takes one E27 bulb up to 60W, it is dimmable, the flex runs 1.5m, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The shade is recycled glass, shaped by hand, so the rim line and the thickness of the wall differ from one shade to the next. The collar, chain and ceiling plate are finished in antique brass. The Keju range also holds the same pendant in dark amber glass. Bulbs are not included.

Will the bulb be visible?

Yes. The glass is clear, so the bulb shows through the shade from below and from the side. A neat filament bulb suits it better than a large frosted globe.

Can several be hung in a row?

Yes. Each one comes on its own chain and 1.5m flex. At 30cm across they need space between them, which a long table or a kitchen island gives and a small table does not.

How far does it hang down?

The flex is 1.5m long and the fitting is 25cm tall, so the drop is set by how much of the flex and chain is used.

How do I clean it?

Switch it off and let the bulb cool, then wipe the glass with a soft dry cloth in a circular motion. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off it.
