Description

A set of three miniature Christmas stockings in deep red cotton velvet, each 13cm long and 4.5cm across. Each is the shape of the full-sized Karru stocking reduced, with a velvet body and a band of natural linen around the opening. Every stocking hangs from its own loop of natural twine.

At 13cm these are hanging decorations rather than stockings to fill. The three run along a mantel above a fireplace, hang from a tree, or stand on a shelf or a side table, and one at each place setting works at a Christmas table. Each carries its own twine loop to hang by.

The body is cotton velvet and the band at the top is linen, so a smooth pile sits against a plainer open weave. Both fabrics were chosen for their low environmental impact as well as for the way they feel, and each stocking is cut, sewn and finished by hand. This red is the newest of the Karru colourways, which also run in forest green, rich mocha and indigo. The full-sized stocking is made at 52cm.
