Description

Three miniature Christmas stockings, each 13cm long, in a cotton velvet so dark that it reads close to black until the light finds the pile and lifts it to a deep blue. A band of open weave natural linen sits across the top of each one, and a loop of natural twine is stitched into the back of the band.

Thirteen centimetres is small enough to hang all three from one branch without crowding it, and large enough for a chocolate, a key or a folded note. The twine loop drops over a twig or a hook with no fastening, so the set moves from a tree to a mantel to a shelf edge through December.

The body is cotton velvet and the band is linen, both woven and stitched by hand. The set weighs 0.04kg in all. Karru runs the same set of three in rich mocha, forest green and red, and the full sized indigo stocking alongside them.
