Description

A round coffee table, 70cm across and 40cm high. The top is a solid slab of marble, dark grey with a green cast and veined in white and paler grey, and the sawn edge shows the stone running lighter towards the underside. It stands on four slim round iron legs in a bronzed finish, and a second full round shelf, solid iron, is set about halfway down between them.

At 40cm the top sits level with the seat of a sofa, and 70cm across takes a tray, a stack of books and a few glasses without crowding. The lower shelf is solid rather than slatted, so magazines lie flat on it instead of slipping through. The top overhangs the frame the whole way round, so it is the marble edge that is seen from a chair rather than the metal.

The top is solid marble, sourced from Rajasthan, and the frame is iron. Marble varies from block to block, so the depth of the grey and the run of the veining differ from one table to the next. The Karoko range also holds a side table and a drinks table in the same marble.
