Description
The Kanz wardrobe is a two door mango wood cupboard, 190cm tall, 100cm wide and 58cm deep. Each door is framed in solid timber and filled with three stacked panels of woven cane, six panels across the front in all, and the two doors meet on a pair of small round brass knobs. The carcass and the sides are solid mango wood in a pale, lightly washed tone, and the whole piece stands clear of the floor on four short square legs.
At 190cm this is a full height wardrobe, and the two doors are hinged at the outer edges, so each leaf is about half the 100cm width and wants that much clear floor in front of it to swing fully open. Inside there is a hanging rail across the top and two shelves below it, one fixed and one that lifts out, so the space divides between hanging and folded clothes. The cane is an open weave rather than a solid board, so air passes through the doors.
The carcass is solid mango wood, the door panels are woven cane and the knobs and hinges are antique brass. Mango is cut for timber only once the trees have finished bearing fruit, and each board carries its own grain and markings, brought out by hand sanding, so the tone shifts from board to board across the doors and sides. The Kanz range also holds a chest of drawers, a tall boy chest, a bedside table and a writing desk.

Frequently Asked
How many doors does it have?
Two, each filled with three stacked panels of woven cane.
What is inside it?
A hanging rail across the top and two shelves below it. One shelf is fixed and one lifts out.
How big is it?
190cm tall, 100cm wide and 58cm deep. It weighs 68.8kg.
What are the door panels made of?
Woven cane, set into solid mango wood door frames. The knobs and hinges are antique brass.
How do I look after it?
Wipe the surfaces with a soft dry cloth to lift dust and moisture, always working in the direction of the grain. Mild soap and water can be used, but sparingly, and never harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Keep it out of strong direct sunlight, which fades the finish.
