Description

The Kando P/76/R is a rechargeable LED floor lamp in the shape of a lantern. A pleated shade in Cream Translucent Ribbon stands inside a three-legged frame in Brown, capped with a round dark top. It is made from aluminium, teak wood, ribbon and polycarbonate, and measures 49cm across. The light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives 247 lumens, softened as the light passes through the ribbon. That is a gentle, ambient level of light, better for setting a mood in the evening than for close reading.

We think it is most at home in a living room, standing beside a sofa, filling a bare corner or keeping an armchair company. It runs on a rechargeable battery charged by USB-C, so it is not tied to the wiring. You can set it wherever it looks best and move it when the room changes. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry indoor rooms only. A pair in one room builds layers of soft light without any new cabling.

The ribbon is gathered into fine vertical pleats all the way round the shade. The frame rises above it and is joined by rails at the top, so the lamp looks considered from every side, lit or unlit.
