The Kando M/40/R is a rechargeable outdoor table lamp in the form of a lantern. A cylinder of sand-coloured nautical cord wraps around the light, held inside a frame of three teak wood uprights joined top and bottom by dark arms, with a round dark top above the shade. Its finish is Brown & Teak Sand Nautical Cord, and it is made from aluminium, teak wood, nautical cord and polycarbonate. The light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and it gives 72 lumens: a soft, low glow through the cord, for atmosphere rather than reading. It measures 22.5cm across.

Because it is rated IP44, it suits outdoor use: a garden table, a terrace, a patio or a balcony on a summer evening. It runs from its own rechargeable battery, so it needs no cable while it is in use and can move from the dining table to a low wall or a step as the evening goes on.
