Kalsi Small Recycled Glass Pendant Light - Lustre

The Kalsi is a glass flagon, straight sided for most of its length and curving in at the shoulder to a short neck with a brass collar and chain above. The glass carries a lustre finish, a thin iridescent film running from near clear at the rim to a warm smoky gold across the shoulder, which shifts as you move around it. This is the small: 36cm tall and 23.5cm across.

The proportion is what separates the two sizes. At 23.5cm the small is narrow enough to hang in a row over an island or a run of worktop without the shoulders crowding each other, where the large wants space of its own. It is also a full 10cm shorter, which matters under an ordinary ceiling. The straight sides send most of the light down through the open base, so a row of them gives a sequence of defined pools rather than a general glow. It takes one E27 bulb up to 70W, the flex runs 2m, and it is rated IP20.

The glass is recycled and blown by hand, so the profile, the thickness and the depth of the lustre differ between pendants: two hung together will be close but not identical. The collar and chain are brass. The Kalsi range also holds a large size, 46.5cm tall and 31cm across. Bulbs are not included.

Can I hang several in a row?

Yes, and that is what the small is for. At 23.5cm across the shoulders clear each other over an island where the large would not.

What is a lustre finish?

Closely, not exactly. Each is blown by hand and the lustre takes differently on every one.

How do I clean it?

Switch it off and let the glass cool, then a soft dry cloth. The lustre is a surface film, so avoid anything abrasive.
