Kagitha Small 3 Light Recycled Glass Chandelier - Green

The Kagitha is a chandelier built from small round discs of green glass, hung in three tiers from a brass frame. Each disc hangs from a hook on a brass ring and overlaps the discs beside it, so a tier reads as a row of scales, and the rings step inward as they descend to give the whole piece a shallow bowl shape. The glass is pressed, so the ripples and the depth of green change from one disc to the next, running from a near clear grey to a deeper olive. A brass chain and a round brass ceiling plate sit above. The small measures 26cm tall and 45cm across.

The bulbs sit inside the frame behind the discs, so the glass is what is seen from the side. Light comes through the green and out between the discs, and the ones closest to the bulbs take the most colour. At 45cm across and only 26cm deep it hangs over a hall or a dining table without filling the ceiling, and the short body suits a room that cannot take a long drop. It takes three E14 bulbs up to 40W each, it is dimmable, the flex runs 1.5m, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The discs are recycled glass and the frame is iron in a brass finish. Each disc is pressed on its own, so no two carry the same tone or the same thickness. The Kagitha range also holds a large version of this chandelier at 56cm across, a small in clear glass, and one in antique brass. Bulbs are not included.

How many bulbs does it need?

Three, all E14, up to 40W each. They are not included.

How is it different from the large?

The large is 56cm across and 31cm tall against 45cm and 26cm here, and it carries a fourth tier of discs. Both take three E14 bulbs.

Is the green the same on every disc?

No. Each disc is pressed on its own, so the tone shifts across the tiers between a near clear grey and a deeper olive.

How do I clean it?

Switch it off and let the bulbs cool, then wipe each disc with a soft dry cloth in a circular motion. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off the glass.
