Kaanch Tall Embossed Check Tumblers - Clear - Set of 4

A set of four tall tumblers in clear glass, each 12cm high and 8cm across, holding 380ml. A check is pressed into the outside: horizontal ribs run round the glass and vertical ribs cross them, so the surface reads as a lattice of small raised squares with a bead at each crossing. The rim is left plain and smooth above the pattern, and the base is thick.

At 380ml these take a long drink rather than a short one: iced water, a soft drink over ice, a tall cocktail. The pressed check gives the outside a grip that a plain glass does not have, and it catches the light along every rib, so the glass reads as pattern whether it is full or empty. Four come in a set. Kaanch runs to a shorter tumbler and a jug as well.

The glass is recycled, and every tumbler is blown by hand using traditional glassmaking tools. The check is pressed into the surface while the glass is still hot rather than cut into it afterwards, so the ribs stand proud of the wall and the pattern runs a little differently on every glass.

How many glasses come in a set?

Four. Each is 12cm tall, 8cm across and holds 380ml.

Are they dishwasher safe?

Yes.

Is the pattern printed on?

No. It is pressed into the glass while the glass is still hot, so the ribs stand proud of the surface and can be felt.

Is the glass recycled?

Yes, and each glass is blown by hand.

How should they be washed?

Wash them after every use to prevent staining, using a mild detergent, and do not leave them to soak.

What else is in the Kaanch range?

A shorter tumbler and a jug.
