Description

A candle snuffer 22.5cm long: a slim hammered handle with a small bell hung from a pivot at the far end. The bell is 3cm across the mouth and swings freely, so it finds the vertical however the handle is held. The iron is finished in antique brass and the hammer marks run the length of the handle.

Twenty two and a half centimetres reaches across a laid table, or down into a lantern, without a sleeve going near a flame. Lowered over a wick the bell puts the flame out without the spattered wax or the trailing smoke that blowing one out leaves behind.

The snuffer is iron under an antique brass finish. The pivot at the end of the handle lets the bell hang level whatever angle the handle is held at, which is what makes it usable over a candle set down inside something. Each one is hammered by hand, so the marks along the handle fall differently on every piece.
