Description

A linen tablecloth 270cm long and 130cm wide, in the undyed colour of flax, somewhere between oatmeal and pale sand. The linen is plain woven with no pattern in it and the weave is open enough to read as texture rather than as a flat sheet. All four edges are turned and stitched into a narrow hem, and that stitching is the only detail on the piece.

270 by 130cm covers a long dining table with room to hang. On a table 90cm wide it leaves roughly 20cm falling at each side; on one 180cm long it leaves about 45cm at each end, and on a 220cm table about 25cm. Over a dining table the edges drop towards knee height. Linen creases as soon as it is handled, and it creases visibly in use.

It is 100% linen, handwoven and hand finished in Portugal, with the yarn chosen for a balance of softness and hard wear. The hem is turned and stitched rather than left raw or fringed. The Junto range also runs to a smaller tablecloth, a table runner and linen napkins.

What size is it?

270cm by 130cm.

What size table will it fit?
