Description
A single-wick scented candle, 270g of wax in a hand-blown recycled glass vessel 9cm across and 9cm tall. The vessel is heavily textured and worn back in patches, an off-white ground broken through to ochre and gold underneath, with a raw metallic band round the inside of the rim and a rounded base. The wax is poured flat and pale with one cotton wick set centrally. The scent is woody: eucalyptus and fir, with spiced juniper and black pepper over them.
It burns for 45 to 50 hours, at 2 to 4 hours at a time. At 9cm across and 9cm tall it stands on a side table, a mantelpiece or a windowsill without taking the surface over. The vessel is made to outlast the candle: the wax comes out once it has burnt down and the pot is meant to be used for something else afterwards.
The wax is a blend of sustainably sourced European soy and natural beeswax, poured and packed in the UK, finished with a cotton wick. The fragrance is built on natural essential oils, among them black pepper, galbanum, patchouli, pine needle, eucalyptus, juniper berry and aniseed. The vessel is blown by hand from recycled glass in India, so the shape and the wear of the finish differ from one to the next. The same scent is also made as a three-wick candle and as a 200ml reed diffuser.

Frequently Asked
How long does it burn for?
45 to 50 hours.
What does it smell of?
Eucalyptus and fir with spiced juniper and black pepper. The oils in it include black pepper, galbanum, patchouli, pine needle, eucalyptus, juniper berry and aniseed.
What is the wax?
A blend of sustainably sourced European soy wax and natural beeswax, on a cotton wick.
Can I reuse the vessel?
Yes, that is what it is there for. Put it in the freezer for 6 to 12 hours until the wax shrinks away from the glass and can be knocked out gently, then wipe the inside with a damp cloth. Do not leave it to soak, and keep abrasive cloths and harsh detergents away from it.
How should I burn it?
Let the wax melt right out to the sides the first time you light it, and trim the wick to 5mm before each burn. Give it at least 2 hours but no more than 4 at a time, in a ventilated room away from draughts, standing on a stable heat-protected surface well away from children, pets and anything that will catch. Do not move it while it is lit, never leave it unattended, and stop burning when about 10mm of candle is left.
