Description
A cream glazed ceramic cake stand on a pedestal foot, 30cm across the plate and 15cm from table to plate. A short rim stands up around the edge of the plate, and the face of it that looks inward is painted with a close row of teardrops in a dark juniper green, each one loaded at the top and drawn down to a fine point. Everything else is plain cream: the outside of the rim, the underside of the plate, the column, and the stepped ring it stands on.
The plate is flat and the rim is low enough that a slice lifts straight off it. With a cake on it the green drops still show round the edge behind. Pastries, scones or a wedge of cheese sit on it the same way. At 15cm the plate clears the plates and glasses set either side of it on a laid table.
The stand is ceramic, shaped and painted by hand in Vietnam. The drops are laid on with a brush, one at a time, so their width, their spacing and the depth of the green shift from stand to stand. Juniper Drop runs across dinner plates, side plates, bowls, mugs, jugs, a teapot, a butter dish, egg cups and a twelve piece dinnerware set in the same cream and juniper.

Frequently Asked
How big is it?
The plate is 30cm across, and the stand is 15cm from the table to the top of the plate.
How is the green applied?
With a brush, by hand, one drop at a time. The width, the spacing and the depth of green all vary from stand to stand as a result.
Can I use it for savoury food?
Yes. It is food safe, and it takes pastries, scones or cheese as readily as cake.
What else is in the Juniper Drop range?
Dinner plates, side plates, bowls, mugs, jugs, a teapot, a butter dish, egg cups and a twelve piece dinnerware set, all in the same cream and juniper.
How do I look after it?
Hand wash it only, after every use, so nothing stains the glaze. Use a mild detergent, do not leave it to soak, and handle it with care.
