Description

A set of three ribbons cut from cotton velvet, one a warm terracotta cinnamon, one a dusty mauve pink and one a mid grey. Each length is cut by hand and left with a raw edge rather than a hem, so both sides fray softly, and the fray is part of the design rather than a fault in it. The velvet is densely woven and the edges are delicate.

The ribbons tie around parcels, and they run through a wreath or a garland as an accent where a plain tie would disappear into the greenery. Three of them will dress a wreath and still leave one for a gift. They are made to be used again year after year rather than put out once, and the set arrives in a box to keep them in.

The material is cotton velvet throughout. Each ribbon is cut and finished by hand, so the fray along the edges settles differently on every one and no two in a set read alike. The Jirani ribbons are also made in moss and in merlot.
