Description
The Javanee small is a candle holder in iron, 19cm tall on a foot 6.5cm across. A wide trumpet foot rises and draws in to a waist, passes through a single faceted bead at the midpoint, then opens out again into a narrow cup that takes a taper candle. The same flared form sits at the top and at the foot, the foot much the wider of the two.
The whole surface is worked in broad hammered facets, so the antique brass breaks into small planes of light and shadow instead of reading as one continuous curve. At 19cm the flame stands low enough to see across on a laid table, and the 6.5cm foot takes little room between dishes. It is made for indoor and outdoor use, so a garden table is as much its place as a hall shelf.
The piece is iron throughout, under an antique brass finish. Each one is worked by hand, so the facets fall differently on every holder and the finish sits lighter on the raised planes than in the hollows. Javanee runs at 19cm, 26cm and 33cm on the same 6.5cm foot, and the stem gains a bead at each step up: one here, two on the 26cm and three on the 33cm. The candle is not included.

Frequently Asked
What candle does it take?
A taper candle, standing in the cup at the top.
How tall is it?
19cm, on a foot 6.5cm across.
What are the other sizes?
26cm and 33cm, both on the same 6.5cm foot. The stem gains a bead at each step up, so those two carry two beads and three against the one here.
Can it go outside?
Yes. It is made for indoor and outdoor use.
How do I look after it?
Wash it with a mild dish soap and warm water after every use so wax does not build up, and keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners away from the finish.
Does it get hot in use?
Yes. Position the candle securely, keep it out of reach of children, wait until it has cooled fully before handling it, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
