Description

Two tealight holders blown from recycled glass, one wider and deeper than the other rather than a matched pair. The glass is a smoky grey through the upper wall and gives way to a band of mottled cream and dull gold across the base, so each holder reads as two tones divided at about half its height. The rims are uneven and no two run the same line.

The well is shallow and the wall is thick, so a tealight stands low and the light comes up through the glass rather than out over the rim. Unlit, the smoky glass sits close to the colour of stone itself. Janka runs the same shape in dark amber, which is the warmer of the two.

The glass is recycled: waste glass is collected, washed and melted down before it is blown. That is what leaves the rims uneven and the two tones meeting at a different height on every holder. The tealights are not included.
