Description
Our Janavi table runner is a long, woven strip of 100% jute in beige, made for dressing the table through the Christmas season. It is 550cm long and 35cm wide, a narrow runner with real length. That is enough to run the full length of a long dining table and fall well over each end, or to stretch along a pair of tables pushed together. Jute is a coarse natural fibre with a dry, rough handle, and the open weave shows it off, giving the runner a rustic, homespun texture. Every edge finishes in a loose fringe of frayed threads.
Lay it down the centre of the dining table for Christmas Day. Its 35cm width leaves the surface either side clear, so the runner frames the middle rather than covering it. It sits well over a linen tablecloth or straight on bare wood, where the beige jute warms a pale or a dark finish alike. Away from the table it suits a sideboard, a console in the hall or a deep windowsill, as a base for pine cuttings, cones, paper trees and other seasonal decorations. Its plain colour and rough texture suit a natural, pared-back Christmas, and nothing about it needs packing away the moment the decorations come down.
The runner is woven from 100% jute and weighs 0.56KG. Care is spot clean only, and the care guidance rules out drying and ironing, so it is never one for the washing machine or the ironing board. Lift any mark where it lands rather than treating the whole length. Between seasons it rolls up into a compact bundle for a drawer or a shelf. The styling props shown are not included. For a layered table, set it over a plain cloth in a lighter or darker shade so the fringed edges stand out, and let it hang past the ends of the table to show its full length.

Frequently Asked
What is this table runner made of?
It is woven from 100% jute, a coarse natural fibre, in beige, with an open, rustic weave and frayed fringes finishing every edge.
How long and wide is the runner?
It is 550cm long and 35cm wide, so it runs the full length of a long dining table with plenty left to hang over each end.
Can I put the jute runner in the washing machine?
No. The maker's care guidance is spot clean only, so deal with any mark where it lands rather than washing the whole runner.
Can I iron or dry the runner?
No. The maker's care guidance says no ironing and no drying, so we would keep the iron and the dryer well away from the jute.
How heavy is it?
It weighs 0.56KG, light enough to roll up and lift onto a shelf or into a drawer between one Christmas and the next.
Will it work on a sideboard as well as a table?
Yes. At 35cm wide it suits a sideboard, a hall console or a deep windowsill as a base for seasonal decorations.
