Description

Four baubles in recycled glass, each 9cm tall and 6cm across, two of them round and two teardrops. The copper is mottled and broken rather than laid on evenly, so each bauble carries dark patches where the metal has thinned and the glass shows through. A metal cap at the top takes a black velvet tie.

Copper at this size does something a gold bauble does not: it picks up the colour of whatever is lit near it rather than throwing back a flat metallic highlight. With a light behind them, the dark patches read as shadow and the copper as warm. Nine centimetres puts them among the branches rather than at the tips.

The glass is recycled and the ties are cotton velvet. Each bauble is blown and finished singly, so no two carry the same pattern of breaks. Four are supplied. Jalshara baubles are also made in moss.
