Description

The Knightsbridge IP65 GU10 spotlight combines a die-cast aluminium lamp body with both a ground spike and a wall mounting bracket, allowing it to be positioned either driven into soil or fixed to a vertical surface. The IP65 rating protects the internal GU10 lamp holder from water jets and dust ingress, making it suitable for year-round outdoor installation in UK gardens, driveways and building facades.

Supplied with a 2m outdoor-rated cable pre-wired into the body, the spotlight can be positioned at a distance from the mains connection point without needing separate cable runs or junction boxes. The ground spike version suits border lighting, uplighting of trees or architectural features, and pathway marking in planted beds. The wall mounting bracket allows the same fitting to be used for security lighting, building facade illumination, or directional accent lighting on outdoor walls.

The die-cast aluminium construction gives durability and heat dissipation for outdoor use, while the clear glass lens provides full light transmission without diffusion. The lamp body tilts on the mounting bracket or spike base, allowing the beam to be angled upwards, downwards or horizontally depending on the application. The fitting accepts any standard GU10 lamp up to 83mm length and 10W maximum rating, with dimming capability subject to the chosen lamp.

The black powder-coated finish resists corrosion and UV degradation, maintaining appearance through seasonal weather changes. The 98mm diameter and 107mm length give a compact profile suitable for residential garden lighting schemes without dominating sightlines during daylight hours.

Does it come with a GU10 bulb?

No. The spotlight is supplied without a lamp. Any standard GU10 LED lamp up to 83mm length and 10W maximum rating is compatible. Most users pair this with a 5-7W warm-white LED GU10 for garden accent lighting.

Can it be used as both a spike light and wall light?

Yes. Both mounting options are supplied in the box. The lamp body detaches from the spike base and can be fixed to the wall bracket instead, or vice versa, without needing additional parts.

What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?

IP65 provides protection against water jets from any direction and complete dust ingress protection. The fitting is suitable for permanent outdoor installation in UK weather conditions, including rain, snow and frost.

Is the cable long enough to run from a wall socket?

The pre-wired 2m cable allows the spotlight to be positioned up to 2 metres from the mains connection point. For longer runs, the cable can be extended using an outdoor-rated IP66/IP67 junction box and additional exterior-grade cable, or the fitting can be wired into an existing outdoor lighting circuit.
