Description

The Inkollu is a two tier dish rack made from iron wire, 46cm wide, 25cm deep and 24cm tall. The upper tier is a plate rack, a run of looped wire uprights that hold plates and bowls on edge, with a separate square basket hung off one end for cutlery. Below it a second wire shelf runs the full width, its bars laid close enough to stand a mug or a jug on. The frame sits on four short feet, and the aged brass is matt, reading warm brown rather than polished yellow.

It is a draining rack for a sink side or a worktop, and at 46cm wide and 25cm deep it sits on a standard draining board. Plates and bowls stand on edge in the upper tier, cutlery drops into the basket at the end, and the shelf below takes mugs, jugs and anything that will not stand up. The wire is open throughout, so water runs down and off rather than sitting under a plate.

It is iron throughout, given an aged brass finish, and it is food safe. The wire work is done by hand, joined and shaped with traditional tools by a family business with a long heritage in wire. The Inkollu range also holds a low dish rack, a spice rack, a toast rack, a cutlery holder and a three tiered storage stand in the same finish.
