Indu 6 x 8" Mango Wood Photo Frame - Dark Ash

A standing photo frame in mango wood under a dark ash finish, built as a deep box rather than a flat moulding. The wood is left rough from the tool, with chisel marks running across the face of the frame and the grain showing through the dark colour. At the back a glass panel slides out of a slot in the top, so a photograph goes in and the panel slides down over it again.

The aperture takes a 6 x 8 inch photograph, portrait way up. The frame stands on two small feet and carries no hook and no cord on the back, so it belongs on a shelf, a desk, a mantelpiece or a chest of drawers rather than on a wall.

The frame is mango wood and the panels are glass. Mango is grown first for fruit and cropped for years before the trees stop bearing, and the timber is taken only then, so a grower can replant and earn from the same trees twice over. The frame is also made in an 8 x 10 inch size in this dark ash, and in plain mango wood in both sizes.

How does the photograph go in?

The glass panel at the back slides out of a slot in the top of the frame, and slides back down once the print is in place.

Can it hang on a wall?

No. It stands on two small feet and there is no fixing on the back.

How do I look after it?

Wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cloth so dust and dirt do not build up, and use a microfibre cloth in a circular motion on the glass.
