Description
A footed cake stand in cream glazed ceramic, 30cm across and 15cm tall. The plate is shallow with an upstanding rim, and the inner face of that rim carries a single row of hand painted indigo teardrops, each one broad at the top and drawn down to a point, spaced evenly the whole way round. The outside of the rim and the whole of the pedestal are left plain cream. The pedestal is waisted and flares out to a stepped foot ring.
At 30cm across this is a full sized cake stand, and it carries a cut loaf cake. The 15cm pedestal lifts whatever sits on it above the rest of the table, and the drops run round the inner face of the rim, so they read from above and from a seated eye line rather than from across the room. It is food safe, so it takes cheese, fruit or bread as readily as cake.
The stand is ceramic, made by hand in Vietnam and finished in a cream glaze. The Indigo Drop pattern is painted on by hand, so the spacing of the drops and the depth of the blue shift slightly from piece to piece. The range runs to dinner plates, side plates, bowls, mugs, jugs, teapots, a butter dish and egg cups in the same cream and indigo.

Frequently Asked
How big is it?
30cm across and 15cm tall.
Is it food safe?
Yes. It will take cake, cheese, fruit or bread.
Is the pattern hand painted?
Yes. Every drop on the inner rim is painted by hand, so the spacing and the depth of the blue vary from stand to stand.

Dinner plates, side plates, bowls, mugs, jugs, teapots, a butter dish, egg cups and a twelve piece dinnerware set, all in the same cream and indigo.
How do I look after it?
Wash it after every use so it does not stain. Use a mild detergent and do not leave it to soak. Handle it with care so it does not chip.
