Description

The Indali is a super king bed frame in mango wood, with a panelled headboard standing 102cm from the floor and a low footboard built to match it. Both are made up of flat rectangular panels set into a square-edged surround, and the legs are plain square posts that run straight down to the floor. The base is a grid of slats laid across the side rails and is built into the frame.

The frame measures 188cm across and 213.5cm from the footboard to the back of the headboard. Those are the outside figures and they are what a room has to take. At 102cm the headboard reaches well above the height of a bedside table, so it reads as the back of the bed rather than sitting behind something else, and the footboard repeats its panels at a fraction of the height. The frame is rated to carry up to 450kg.

The frame is mango wood throughout, left in its natural tone with the grain showing, so the colour and the figure differ from one bed to the next and will shift further over time. Mango is grown first for its fruit, and the trees are cut for timber only once they have stopped bearing. The Indali bed is also made as a king.
