Description

A King size bed frame in solid mango wood. The headboard is a panel of horizontal boards between two square posts, with a flat rail capping the top and running past the posts at either end. The footboard repeats it lower down. Between them the side rails carry a full slatted base: the slats run out to each side from a centre rail that runs the length of the frame, with a cross rail bracing them partway down. The wood is pale and open grained and keeps its own colour.

The frame is 158cm wide and 213.5cm long, and the headboard stands 102cm from the floor. It takes a King size mattress, and the slatted base is part of the frame, so no separate bed base is needed. The whole frame weighs 73kg and it is rated to carry 400kg. It suits a bedside table at either side.

The bed is solid mango wood throughout, slats included. Mango trees are cut for timber only once they have stopped bearing fruit, which is what makes the wood available at all. The joinery is left plain and in sight, and because the wood is natural the colour and the grain shift from one part of the frame to another and will go on changing. The mattress is not included. The Indali is also made as a Super King at 188cm wide.

Frequently Asked

What size mattress does it take?

A King size. The mattress is not included.

Is a slatted base included?

Yes. The slats are part of the frame and sit on a centre rail that runs the length of the bed, so no separate base is needed.

How much weight will it carry?

Up to 400kg.

How big is the frame?

158cm wide, 213.5cm long, and 102cm to the top of the headboard. It weighs 73kg.

Is there a bigger size?

Yes. The Indali is also made as a Super King, 188cm wide, the same length and the same height.

How do I look after the wood?

Rub an edible oil such as olive or walnut into the surface with a cloth to feed and protect it, bearing in mind that oil darkens the tone. Blot any spill straight away with a dry cloth, since liquid marks the finish, and keep chemical cleaners away from it.
