Description

A standing nutcracker 26cm tall on a round base 8cm across, cut and formed from iron by hand. The body is a cylinder with the arms held against the sides, the hat sits square on top, and the face, the buttons and the boots are raised out of the metal rather than applied to it. It weighs 0.31kg.

Twenty-six centimetres stands on a mantel or a shelf rather than on a table, and the raised detail catches the light along one side and goes to shadow on the other. It stands on its own base and needs nothing to hold it up.

The metal is iron under an antique brass finish, and each figure is cut and finished by hand, so the detail comes out slightly differently on every one. A 39cm Imay nutcracker is made as well, and a pair of 13cm hanging ones.
