Description

Two nutcracker figures, each 13cm tall, 4.5cm across and 2.5cm deep, cut from iron by hand and worked into shape. The detail is raised out of the metal rather than printed on it: a tall hat, a face, a row of buttons down the tunic, and two separate legs below. A jute string is tied through the top of each for hanging.

Thirteen centimetres is tall for a tree decoration and narrow with it, so these hang down the front of a tree where the outline reads against the dark inside rather than being lost among the branches. The two together weigh 0.13kg.

The metal is iron under an antique brass finish, and every figure is cut and finished by hand, so the detail comes out slightly differently on each. Two are supplied. A standing Imay nutcracker is made in 26cm and 39cm.
