Description
The Ibo is a display cabinet 180cm tall and 120cm wide, built from reclaimed wood, with glass in both doors and in both side panels. The frame is square and heavy and stands on four short block feet. The boards keep the splits, the nail holes and the worn grain they came with, and the colour runs from grey through to a warm brown from one board to the next. Each door carries an antique brass pull handle on a round backplate.
At 180cm tall and only 34cm deep it stands flat against a wall without taking much floor, and the glazed sides mean what is inside reads from across a room as well as from the front. There is 25cm between shelves, over six levels. In a kitchen it takes glasses on the top two levels, plates and storage jars in the middle, and folded linen and a basket at the bottom. Two metal loops are fitted at the top of the back panel for a wall fixing.
The wood is reclaimed from traditional Indian transport trucks and keeps the marks of that use, so the grain, the colour and the splits differ from cabinet to cabinet. The back is solid boarded wood rather than glass, and the shelves are cut from the same timber as the frame. The Ibo range holds the same cabinet in a tall version as well as this wide one. It weighs 100.5kg.

Frequently Asked
How many shelf levels are there?
Six, with 25cm between them.
Are the sides glazed as well as the doors?
Yes. Both doors and both side panels are glass. The back is solid boarded wood.
What is the wood?
Reclaimed wood salvaged from traditional Indian transport trucks.
Can it be fixed to the wall?
There are two metal loops at the top of the back panel for a wall fixing.
How heavy is it?
100.5kg.
How do I look after it?
Wipe it with a soft dry cloth, always along the grain. Mild soap and water can be used, but not too much water, and harsh chemicals and abrasive materials will damage the finish. Mop up spills straight away, use mats and coasters, and keep it out of strong direct sunlight.
