We stock the Holity recessed downlight trim ring in matt black as a simple way to finish the edge of a recessed downlight. It sits around the downlight aperture, either flush or slightly proud of the ceiling, so it frames the light and covers the cutout edge along with any small gaps between the fitting and the plasterboard or ceiling tile. We keep it as the recessed version in the Holity range, distinct from the perforated ceiling trim ring, so you can match it to a standard recessed housing.
