Hezha Floral Stoneware Bowl 28cm - Green

This is a large stoneware serving bowl, 28cm across and 9cm tall, with a capacity of 3350ml. The outside is a rich green, patterned with fine floral branches and a single bird standing among them. Inside, a dense pattern of small green leaves runs right up to the rim, and three birds fly across the centre. Every part of the decoration is painted by hand, so it reads as one piece of work rather than a print, and the bowl looks as good from above, full on the table, as it does from the side on an open shelf.

At 3350ml this is a bowl for the whole table rather than for one person: a big salad, pasta for the family, roast vegetables, or fruit kept out on the kitchen counter. At 28cm across it gives plenty of room to toss leaves and dressing, and at 9cm tall it stays low enough to pass easily along a dining table. It suits anyone who cooks for a crowd at weekends, a long summer lunch in the garden, or a kitchen where serving pieces live on open shelves between meals. It also makes a generous gift for someone setting up a new home.

The bowl is 100% stoneware with a handpainted finish, and at 1.55KG it has a solid, reassuring weight in the hand. Stoneware is dense and hard-wearing, and this bowl goes in the dishwasher, the microwave and the oven, so you can warm a dish through or bake in it and carry it straight to the table. Handpainting leaves small differences in line from one piece to the next, which is part of its charm. We like it on a plain linen runner or a wooden board so the green pattern has room to show, with the rest of the table kept simple.

What is the bowl made of?

It is made of 100% stoneware with a handpainted finish, so the branches, leaves and birds on it are all painted by hand.

How big is this bowl?

It is 28cm across and 9cm tall and holds 3350ml, which makes it a large serving bowl for the middle of the table rather than an individual bowl.

Is the pattern the same inside and out?

No. The outside is green with floral branches and a single standing bird, while the inside carries small green leaves with three birds flying across the centre.

Can it go in the dishwasher and the microwave?

Yes. It goes in the dishwasher for washing up and in the microwave for warming food through, so it works hard for everyday meals.

Can I bake in it?

Yes. It can go in the oven, so you can bake or warm a dish in it and then serve from the same bowl at the table.

How heavy is it?

It weighs 1.55KG, a reassuring weight for a stoneware bowl that is 28cm across and holds 3350ml.
