Description

The Helios A/02 is a round wall light, 40cm across, that sits just 7.5cm out from the wall. Its flat disc face sits in front of a band of cotton thread round the edge, and it comes in the Oak Brown & Beige Thread finish. The light is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change: 18W giving 830 lumens at a warm 2700K, with a CRI of 90 so colours, skin and wood look true. The light spreads out from behind the disc and through the threads, ringing it in a soft halo with fine shadows across the wall.

We think it suits a living room, a dining room or a bedroom, anywhere you want gentle, indirect light rather than glare. A single one makes a quiet focal point over a sideboard or beside a bed; two or three together make a run of glowing circles along a dining banquette or a long living room wall. It is TRIAC dimmable, so with a compatible dimmer you can turn it down low for the evening. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

The Helios A/02 is made of aluminium, iron and cotton thread, with the thread giving the edge its soft, textured look against the plain face. It runs on 230V mains and is a Class I fitting, wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. The design is by Gonzalo Milà. At 7.5cm deep it keeps close to the wall, so it sits comfortably beside a bed or a sofa where a deeper fitting would be in the way, and with no bulb to replace there is little to look after once it is up.
