Description

The Helia Small is a 50cm circular LED pendant light built around a matt black metal ring frame with an opal acrylic diffuser, housing an integrated 55W 3000K LED. The single-ring design casts light both up onto the ceiling and down into the room through the diffuser, providing ambient light without glare from a visible bulb.

Designed for dining tables, home offices and hallway positions where a low-profile circular pendant works better than a traditional shade, the Helia suits ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. The suspension cables adjust between 50cm and 120cm drop during installation, allowing the ring to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or 1800-2000mm above floor level in an entrance hall. The matt black finish pairs with both contemporary and industrial interiors, and the 50cm diameter gives presence without dominating a 3-4m dining area.

The metal and aluminium construction keeps the 2.53kg weight manageable on standard UK ceiling roses, and the opal acrylic diffuser hides the LED strip inside the ring while softening the light output. The 3000K colour temperature produces warm white light comparable to halogen, and the CRI of greater than 80 renders colours accurately for dining and working environments. The IP20 rating limits the Helia to dry indoor use only.

Is the Helia dimmable?

The integrated LED is rated at 55W on 220-240V mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility with your installation.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 50-120cm adjustable drop works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. For a dining table the pendant typically sits 700-900mm above the surface, which requires a ceiling height of approximately 2.4-2.7m. Lower ceilings can accommodate the Helia if the suspension cables are set to the minimum 50cm drop.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Helia to dry indoor locations only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms, or outdoor use.

What size dining table does it suit?

The 50cm diameter works over tables up to approximately 1.2m wide and 1.8-2.0m long. Larger tables may benefit from two Helia pendants spaced along the length, or a larger diameter model if available in the Schuller range.
