The Haldmere single pendant puts one large opal glass globe, 275mm across, on an adjustable stem that sets the overall height between 760mm and 860mm. It is the simplest fitting in the Haldmere range and the easiest to place, being a single globe, a matt antique brass stem and light that sits soft and even behind the glass. One E27 lamp inside gives more output than the multi light versions manage per globe, so a single Haldmere still lights a good area as a small ceiling light. It weighs 2.2kg.

We would use a single Haldmere over a bedside table, a hall console, a corner reading chair or in a cloakroom. Two or three in a line suit a kitchen island or a long dining table, and because the stem is rigid rather than a flexible cable they hang dead straight and stay where you set them. It is a good pick for anyone who wants a warm brass fitting that lights a specific spot rather than a whole room, and for tidy runs over a worktop.

A metal stem and ceiling plate in matt antique brass carry a single opal glass globe. The lamp is E27 and rated around 10W, and the fitting is dimmable with a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer. Wipe the glass with a barely damp cloth once cool and dry it before switching back on, then dust the brass with a dry cloth and skip sprays and polish, which mark matt finishes. It is rated IP20, so dry indoor rooms only, and it is a Class 1 fitting that needs an earthed supply.
