Description

The Knightsbridge GU10 recessed tilt downlight combines a brass-finished bezel with a 25-degree tilt mechanism and a twist-lock fitting for fast ceiling installation. The die-cast aluminium housing sits flush in the ceiling with a 2.5mm projection from the bezel face, and the inner lamp holder tilts to direct light onto walls, artwork or architectural features rather than straight downward.

Designed for general residential and commercial lighting where directional accent is needed, the downlight fits an 80mm cut-out and requires a minimum 150mm void depth above the ceiling. The twist-lock mechanism allows the fitting to be installed and removed without tools by rotating the housing into spring-loaded retention clips fixed to the ceiling aperture. The pre-wired GU10 lamp holder accepts standard GU10 LED or halogen bulbs up to 50W (sold separately), and an MR16 lamp holder is supplied as an alternative for low-voltage installations.

The brass finish on the bezel provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with traditional and warm-toned interiors. The IP20 rating limits the downlight to dry internal locations — it is not suitable for bathrooms, shower rooms or outdoor use. Dimmability depends on the bulb chosen; most LED GU10 bulbs now support dimming, but compatibility should be checked against the specific dimmer model before installation.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 150mm void above the ceiling is needed to accommodate the 98mm recessed depth of the housing plus clearance for the lamp and wiring. The cut-out diameter is 80mm.

How does the twist-lock mechanism work?

The downlight housing rotates into spring-loaded retention clips fixed to the ceiling aperture. This allows installation and removal without screws or tools — the fitting twists to lock and unlock.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits this downlight to dry internal locations. Bathrooms and shower rooms require IP44 or IP65-rated fittings depending on zone placement.

Is it dimmable?
