Description

The Golden Cage is a 153.7cm LED pendant light built around a flexible luminous silicone tube threaded through a series of gold-finished metal wire spheres. The integrated 117W LED runs the full length of the tube at 3000K warm white, turning the entire piece into a linear light source rather than a series of discrete bulbs. The ceiling mount is concealed, with the wire spheres appearing to float against the ceiling without visible fixings.

Designed for spaces with high ceilings or long runs where a single linear fitting replaces multiple pendants, the Golden Cage suits dining tables longer than 2m, kitchen islands, hotel reception areas, and commercial lobbies. The 84cm maximum drop from ceiling to the lowest point of the curve means the fitting works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.8m or higher. The flexible tube allows the pendant to be shaped into gentle curves or asymmetric drapes depending on how the wire spheres are positioned during installation.

Each wire sphere is constructed from thin metal rod finished in a warm gold tone, with the silicone LED tube passing through the centre. The spheres graduate in size along the length of the fitting, creating visual rhythm when viewed from the side. The gold finish on the metal contrasts with the soft white glow of the silicone tube, which diffuses the LED light evenly along its length without creating hotspots. The IP20 rating restricts the fitting to dry indoor locations only.

The 117W LED is integrated into the silicone tube and is not user-replaceable. Rated LED life is typically 25,000-30,000 hours at 3000K output. If the LED fails within the 2-year warranty period, contact Maytoni for replacement options.

Can the shape of the pendant be adjusted?

Yes. The flexible silicone tube can be shaped into curves or drapes by repositioning the wire spheres along its length during installation. Once positioned, the spheres hold the tube in the desired configuration.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 84cm maximum drop from ceiling to the lowest point of the curve means rooms with ceiling heights of 2.8m or higher work best. In spaces with lower ceilings, the fitting can be shaped into a shallower curve, though this reduces the visual impact of the drape.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the driver built into the ceiling mount. The product manual may specify compatible dimmer types. Contact us before installation if dimming is required.
