Description

A tealight holder blown from recycled glass, 9cm across and 6cm high, with a rim left uneven rather than trued so the line of it dips and rises around the bowl. The glass is heavily mottled: olive and grey over a warmer gold, dense in patches and almost clear in others. The walls are thick and the base is flat.

Nine centimetres across and six high is low enough that the flame sits below the rim and the light leaves through the sides rather than upward. Lit, the mottling breaks the glow into patches instead of a single ring. At 0.3kg it is solid for its size.

The glass is recycled: waste glass collected, washed, crushed and melted down, then blown by hand, which is where the uneven rim and the varying wall thickness come from. A 12cm Gola runs alongside it. The tealight is not included.

Frequently Asked

How big is it?

9cm across and 6cm high.

What candle does it take?

A tealight.

Is there a larger size?

Yes, 12cm across.

Will every one look the same?

Close, but not identical. Each one is blown by hand and the rim is left uneven on purpose.

How do I look after it?

Wash it in warm water with a mild dish soap after every use so that wax does not build up, and keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off it. Stand the tealight securely and keep the flame away from the glass. It gets hot in use, so let it cool fully before handling it, keep it out of reach of children, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
