Description
The Glaera is a 100mm square outdoor LED wall light built from powder-coated die-cast aluminium in a mid-tone grey finish, housing an integrated 11W 3000K LED behind a tempered glass diffuser with a white internal reflector. The IP65 rating protects the fitting against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction, making it suitable for exposed exterior walls, under eaves, and covered porch areas.
Designed for gardens, patios, front doors and terrace walls, the Glaera casts light in two directions — downward and upward — from a single wall-mounted fitting. The 90mm projection from the wall positions the light source close to the building line, minimising the fitting's visual mass while still providing sufficient spread for pathway lighting, door surrounds and wall-washing effects on rendered or brick surfaces. The non-dimmable LED delivers consistent output regardless of ambient temperature.
The die-cast aluminium construction provides impact resistance and weatherproofing without the weight and maintenance requirements of stainless steel. The grey powder-coat finish is baked onto the metal, providing UV stability and resistance to fading under prolonged sun exposure. The tempered glass diffuser is sealed into the aluminium housing with a silicone gasket, preventing moisture ingress around the LED module. The white reflector inside channels the light output through the glass rather than allowing it to spill backwards into the housing, maximising efficiency.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP65 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP65 means the fitting is fully sealed against dust and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. This makes the Glaera suitable for exposed exterior walls, garden paths and covered porches, but not for submersion or high-pressure washing.
Does the light point up, down, or both?
The Glaera casts light in two directions — upward and downward from the wall-mounted fitting. This creates both pathway illumination below and a wall-washing effect above, useful for highlighting rendered or brick surfaces.
Is the LED replaceable?
The LED module is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. The 11W LED is rated for approximately 25,000-30,000 hours of use, which at 4 hours per day equates to around 17-20 years before noticeable degradation.
Can it be installed directly onto brick or render?
Yes. The Glaera mounts to a standard exterior wall surface using fixings appropriate to the substrate — masonry plugs for brick, render screws for render over blockwork. The 90mm projection accounts for typical UK cavity wall construction.
