Description

The Geneva Flush Ceiling Light is a single light made in brass, with a wide dome shade that flares out from a cone housing fixed close to the ceiling. A window cut into the cone lets you see the bulb glowing inside, a nice touch that gives the fitting a workshop character. It is 23.5cm tall and 30.5cm across, and comes in four finishes: Antique Silver, Antique Brass, Polished Brass and Satin Brass. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 40W, and bulbs are sold separately, so you can pick the one you prefer.

We think it suits a hallway especially well, where a fitting that keeps close to the ceiling leaves the space clear and the shade throws light down where you walk. It is for indoor use and rated IP20, so it belongs in dry rooms only. It fixes to the ceiling and is wired in to the mains, which means a qualified electrician should install it. The aged look of Antique Silver or Antique Brass sits well in an older house with period features, while Polished Brass gives a bright shine and Satin Brass a softer glow.

Each Geneva light is made to order for you in Ireland, in brass, in whichever of the four finishes you choose. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase, and bulbs are not covered by that guarantee. The simple lines of the dome shade and the windowed cone give it the plain, useful look of an old factory light, which sits comfortably beside both painted walls and bare brick.
