Description

The Garota A/01 is an outdoor wall light with a squat, rounded globe shade in Ivory White, woven from synthetic fibre in fine vertical ribs and hung from a curved arm on a round wall rose. The light is finished in Natural & White. Inside sits an integrated LED of 8.4W giving 416 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so there is no bulb to buy and colours read naturally after dark. The shade is 27cm across and 16cm tall, the whole light is 26cm tall, it projects 32.5cm from the wall and the wall rose is 12cm across.

Rated IP66, it is sealed against dust and protected against powerful jets of water, so it is made for outdoor use: beside a front door, along a garden wall, on a porch or over a terrace where you sit on summer evenings. Light glows through the open weave of the shade, giving a warm presence on the wall at night. It is TRIAC dimmable with a compatible dimmer, so you can keep it low for a quiet supper outside and bring it up when guests arrive. A pair either side of a doorway gives a balanced welcome, and a run along a wall leads the way to a gate or a seating area.

The Garota A/01 is made from aluminium, stainless steel, polyethylene and synthetic fibre, with the woven shade bringing a natural, basket-like texture to a wall of brick, render or stone. It runs on 230V mains, wired in by a qualified electrician, and is a Class I fitting. The design is by Alex Fernández Camps and Gonzalo Milà. As a practical note, if you plan to dim it, choose a compatible dimmer before it is installed, so the electrician can fit both in one visit.
