The 241mm width and height give the fitting a balanced proportion suitable for standard residential door surrounds and porch canopies without overwhelming smaller entrances. What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?

IP44 protection means the fitting is sealed against solid objects larger than 1mm (dust-protected) and water splashes from any direction. This makes it suitable for covered outdoor positions such as porches, doorways and patio overhangs, but not for fully exposed positions where the fitting would be directly rained on without overhead protection.

What bulb does it take?

The Galena takes two E14 small Edison screw (candle) bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional lantern appearance.

Can it be used on a front door without a porch canopy?

The IP44 rating is designed for positions with overhead cover. If your door has no porch or canopy and the fitting would be fully exposed to rain from above, a higher IP rating (IP65 or above) would be more appropriate for long-term reliability.

How is the seeded glass cleaned?

The seeded glass panels can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth and dried immediately. For stubborn marks, a small amount of glass cleaner on the cloth is acceptable, but avoid spraying directly onto the fitting as liquid can enter the seal around the frame and compromise the IP rating over time.
