Fungi Marble Table Lamp - Black Marble & Smoke Glass

The Fungi is a 40cm table lamp built around a cylindrical base of black marble topped with a hand-blown smoke mirrored glass dome. The marble base anchors 5.6kg of natural stone to the surface, giving stability without additional weighting, while the 30cm-wide glass dome houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately) that casts warm ambient light down through the semi-translucent smoke glass and reflects off the mirrored inner surface.

Designed for bedside tables, office desks, sideboards and console tables where both ambient light and sculptural presence are needed, the Fungi works in contemporary, mid-century and transitional interiors. The lamp requires a 20W maximum E27 bulb and is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer and dimmable bulb, allowing light levels to be adjusted from soft background glow to focused reading light. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations.

The black marble shows natural white veining and tonal variation across the grain, so each base differs slightly in pattern. The smoke mirrored glass dome is hand-blown, creating subtle variation in thickness and reflectivity between individual pieces. The contrast between the matte, cool-toned marble and the warm, reflective glass gives the lamp visual weight without geometric harshness. At 5.6kg the lamp stays stable on smooth surfaces and low-pile rugs without needing to be secured.

What bulb does the Fungi take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 20W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient light that complements the smoke glass.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the lamp is rated as dimmable. You will need a compatible dimmer switch and a dimmable E27 bulb. Non-dimmable LED bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.

Does the marble vary between pieces?

Yes. Each base is cut from natural black marble, so the white veining, tonal variation and grain pattern differ between individual lamps. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.

How is the marble cleaned?

Marble is porous and can stain if exposed to acidic liquids. Wipe the base with a dry or barely-damp microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes, vinegar-based cleaners or anything acidic. The smoke glass can be wiped with glass cleaner once the bulb is removed and the lamp is unplugged.
