Description

The Frieze rug is an outdoor floor covering printed with a busy folk-art design in cobalt blue on a soft cream ground. Herons, palms, pineapples, a shell, a pair of seated cats, an eye motif and rolling waves are set out in framed panels, each one a small picture in its own right, drawn in the loose hand-inked style of Aegean pottery. It is digitally printed onto a polyester flatweave and measures 120 x 170cm, a size that reads as a generous single rug rather than a mat.

Because it is made for outdoor use, this is a rug you can put where most rugs cannot go. It works on a patio, a balcony or a terrace, and it takes to a covered porch or a garden room just as happily indoors. It is light enough to fold up and carry, so the same rug can go out for a picnic or down onto the sand at the beach and come home again.
