The Forage Garden rug measures 120 x 170cm and carries a digitally printed pattern of florals, ferns, mushrooms and a perching peacock, laid out in a grid of small panels. Each motif sits in cream against a sage green ground, and the printing is done onto a flatweave polyester base so the detail stays crisp and the colour stays full. Polyester is the reason this rug can live outside: it does not absorb water the way a natural fibre would, so it sheds rain and dries out rather than staying sodden.

This is an outdoor rug first, though it works indoors just as well. It is made for a patio, a balcony or a terrace, and because it is lightweight and can be rolled and folded, it packs down to take on a picnic or to lay out on the beach. Set it under a bistro table or in front of a pair of chairs and it gives you a defined, softer area to stand on. The green and cream palette sits happily against timber decking, terracotta pots and the greenery of a garden, and the pattern is busy enough to hide the odd bit of garden traffic.
