Description

We stock the Float as a single pendant that pairs a flattened disc of clear glass with a matt black canopy and suspension cable. An integrated 13W LED sits in the matt black housing at the top of the shade, casting 800 lumens of warm white 3000K light down through the glass. The clear glass works as both diffuser and lens, softening the LED while holding a defined downward beam across a 100 degree spread.

We hang the Float over kitchen islands, dining tables and breakfast bars, where it gives functional task light rather than sole ambient light. The 100 degree beam covers a circular pool directly beneath, and the 200mm clear glass disc keeps the profile compact, so it suits lower ceilings or a row of pendants strung above an island or bar. The matt black finish on the canopy and cable gives contrast against white and light ceilings without the glare of gloss black.

The LED is dimmable on compatible leading and trailing edge dimmers (sold separately), so you can adjust the output through the day. It runs at 220 to 240V, draws 13W and returns a CRI of 80, with a rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms. At 800 lumens the output sits close to a traditional 60W incandescent bulb, and the height-adjustable cable lets you set the drop to suit your ceiling and worktop.

Frequently Asked

Is it dimmable?

Yes. The integrated 13W LED dims on a compatible leading or trailing edge dimmer (sold separately), so you can set it from full brightness down to a soft glow over dinner.

Where does it work best?

We recommend it over a kitchen island, dining table or breakfast bar. It gives 800 lumens of 3000K warm white as task light across a 100 degree beam, so pair it with other fittings for whole-room lighting.

How is this different from the other Float pendants?

This is the clear glass version at 200mm. We also stock a smoke glass 200mm and both clear and smoke glass in the larger 680mm size, so you can match the glass tone and drop you prefer.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms only, so we do not recommend it in a bathroom or any zone exposed to moisture.
