Description

We stock the Float as a ceiling-mounted LED light with a clear glass disc shade and a matt black metal canopy. An integrated 13W LED sits within the canopy and projects warm white 3000K light down through the clear glass, which spreads the beam to a wide 100 degree angle for 800 lumens of even output. It sits close to the ceiling, so it keeps a low profile without the drop or visual weight of a pendant.

We think the Float suits hallways, landings, bedrooms, home offices and kitchen circulation areas where ceiling height is limited. The 800 lumen output is enough to light a small to medium room as a primary ceiling source, or to add supplementary light in a larger open-plan space. The matt black canopy works with both monochrome and industrial interiors, and the compact form keeps the ceiling plane clean where you want minimal fittings.

The clear glass shade stays transparent when the LED is off, so it makes little interruption on the ceiling, and when lit it diffuses the point source into an even disc of light with soft edge falloff rather than harsh hotspots. The LED is dimmable when paired with a compatible LED dimmer switch (sold separately), so you can set levels from full output down to a low ambient glow. It runs on 220-240V mains, has a CRI of 80 and an IP20 rating, which makes it suitable for dry interior rooms.

How is the clear glass version different from the smoke glass Float?

This is the clear glass version, so the disc shade stays transparent when the light is off and gives a brighter, crisper spread of light when lit. The smoke glass version has a tinted shade for a softer, more veiled look. Both share the same 13W LED and matt black canopy.

Is it dimmable?

Yes. The integrated 13W LED dims on a compatible LED dimmer switch (sold separately), so you can set it from full 800 lumen output down to a soft ambient glow.

What size room does it suit?

At 800 lumens of warm 3000K light with a wide 100 degree beam, it works well as the main ceiling light in a small to medium room such as a bedroom, landing or home office, or as supplementary light in a larger open-plan area.

Can I fit it in a bathroom?
